LEADERSHIP CALL FOR PROPOSAL

The 21^st century world is evolving too fast so much that leadership failure is becoming clearer and obvious. The rapid nature of the world seems to overtake leaders managing the growth of the contemporary world.

Leadership is calling for proactive agents to administer the rapid growth. Below are some fertile areas of decline in proactive leadership that you may find leadership opportunities if you aspire leadership to impact your abilities.

1. POLITICAL. The political space constantly yearns for new leaders. The call for new leaders has reached an emergency situation due to the wider gap politicians seem to be failing to meet their leadership call. Too many politicians have, seemingly, become high-grade, legalized racketeers with a try and error approach to economic and social challenges. Their resorts to increase in taxes and dishonesty in managing the vehicles of industry has created hostile environment for citizens, most of who resort to ‘ways and means’ for survival. One man said and I believe same to be true that “you can’t leave the management of an economy to only the politicians; it is too big a responsibility”. This is a call for fresh leadership, with contemporary touch.

2. FINANCIAL INDUSTRY. The ongoing reform in the financial industry calls for proactive and fresh ideas. Most leaders in the industry have lost touch with the evolution in the industry. Most have become reactive to the situation and waiting for a cause to react. Some Central bank managers and leading industry managers have turn to what I call ‘ping pong spectators’, they have no idea what is going on in this reformation era. Public confidence is gradually diminishing and the few proactive ones have set the wheel of reformation in motion. Get on board with your solution if you find this your space. A call for leadership!

3. INDUSTRY. This wheel request for new operators. The old fashion leaders are still not in touch with the value of human resource. They still believe they are the ‘movers’ of the wheel forgetting the real employer and ‘movers’ are the end users of their products and services. Industry cries for leaders who understand that they only serve as a link between the real employers and users of their products and services (clients), the engine of their existence (staff) and the facilitators of their products and services (partners) and so they need to guard these groups with all they can devoid of neglect. Exploitation of the human resources is ancient and does not promote good faith and progress. Let aspirants think critically of the fuel that keeps their daily comfort.

4. RELIGIOUS LEADERS. The leadership of the church is gradually coming to the reality life in expression. The bible describes Faith without Works as dead..James 2:14-17. The new leadership must understand that it is equally important to meet the economic and physical needs as it is the Spiritual. This is sound from the beginning by all the standards. A call!

5. EDUCATION. Educational leadership requires the kind of leadership that will script students of the practical expectations of the world. The days of theoretical imbibing are long gone. There seem to be some few proactive sets that still require augmenting to make maximum impact. The likes of Ashesi University in Ghana, has set the pace of the freshness expected. There is still need for more for improvement. A call for leadership!

6. JOURNALISM. The media is an important element of societal growth. The days where journalists go on set without any research and ask ‘foolish and irrelevant’ questions is fading away. It is like the days of type writing. Journalism requires special skills, knowledge and pro-activeness to break sanity into general and special discourse. The world is rapidly evolving and the contemporary media is the pacesetter of the trend of civilization and freshness. There are but few leaders in this field with such determine professionalism. A call for leadership!
